1. The service

Xihlovo provides online record-keeping for stokvels: membership, contributions, fines, statements, exits and payouts. Xihlovo does not hold, move or invest members' money and is not a financial services provider.

2. Accounts and subscriptions

A stokvel subscribes to a monthly plan paid via Paystack. The person who signs up becomes the stokvel's first chairperson and is responsible for the accuracy of the records and for who is invited. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled; on cancellation the portal stays available until the end of the paid period, after which it becomes read-only.

3. Your data

The stokvel owns its records. Xihlovo processes personal information on the stokvel's behalf as described in the privacy notice. You may export your data at any time and request deletion when your subscription ends.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Xihlovo for unlawful schemes, to store data you are not entitled to hold, or to attempt to access other stokvels' data.

5. Liability

Xihlovo is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by South African law, Xihlovo is not liable for losses arising from decisions taken on the basis of the records, from members' non-payment, or from service interruptions. Committees remain responsible for verifying figures before paying money out.

6. Changes

We may update these terms with notice by email to the stokvel's chairperson.
